Registration is now open for the 2026 salary survey designed specifically for university and college development and alumni relations organizations. The survey provides unbiased, third-party data for compensation benchmarking. Enrollment deadline is May 8, 2026.
RED BANK, NJ – D.G. McDermott Associates (DGM) is pleased to announce that enrollment is now open for the 2026 Institutional Advancement and Alumni Relations (IAAR) Compensation Survey. Designed specifically for colleges and universities, this survey provides unbiased, third party data to benchmark the compensation for individuals in development and alumni relations.
Colleges and universities have few sources for reliable salary and incentives data to help them benchmark their compensation plans. The IAAR survey fills this gap by enabling institutions to compare their compensation plans to a national cross-section of peers.
“Past participants have told us this nationwide survey provides data for some positions not found on other surveys,” says Don McDermott, owner and principal of D.G. McDermott Associates. “They particularly value the ability to compare compensation data by school and endowment size.”
To ensure a high level of data accuracy, survey participants are required to submit compensation data for each individual in a position rather than the average of all individuals in that position. In addition, jobs are matched on core responsibilities and functions, not titles.
IAAR Survey is open for registration until May 8, 2026

Participants can order a full survey report for $800, which includes demographic results and compensation data by position. A second option is a customized peer group report ($1,000), which includes the full survey report plus an additional report of data compared to selected peers.
